Home > DishwashersA Dishwasher is a mechanical appliance used for the cleaning of utensils used for serving, preparing, eating and drinking. They are now a common sight in most homes, and relay largely on cleaning utensils by spraying hot detergent water. They then use clean water without the detergent to rinse and remove the detergent residue left on the utensils and plates. All dishwashers sold in the United Kingdom now come with an 'A' to 'G' grading, for cleaning performance, energy efficiency and drying performance. The best machines therefore come with a triple 'A-Grade'. A typical triple 'A-Grade' dishwasher will be capable of being the most efficient in removing any dried grease from utensils, use the least amount of electricity and water, and leave the least amount of water on your dishes at the finish of the washing programme. The capacity of dishwashers have an international standard which is expressed as a standard place setting, and as standard offer a width and depth of 60 cm in Europe. It's recommended to purchase a dishwasher composed of stainless steel rather than plastic, because it will be capable of resisting hard water better, whilst providing better sound dampening, and preserving heat better. Most modern dishwashers also come with a microprocessor that controls a sensor-assisted wash cycle, for either a quick wash, economy wash, intensive wash programme or for glassware. A sensor enabled dishwasher can also intelligently adjust the wash programme to best suit your load, this will ensure perfect results nearly every time. When it comes to sound damping most modern dishwashers can achieve levels down to 44 decibels or so, this is around four times quieter that a 56dB model for example. The other most common features in today's dishwashers are a timer delay to take advantage of low cost electricity charges at night time, adjustable internal baskets, and self cleaning filters to take away all the waste and purify the water. |
