Technical Details: 4 gas hobs, grill, oven, glass lid, 90.0
x 50.0 x 60.0 (H/W/D) cm
Features: Glass lid above the hobs comes with automatic
cut out, push button to light oven and hob - makes it alot easier
to ignite than fiddling about with matches. Glass viewing windows
for the grill and oven.
Pros: The glass lid is a handy safety feature, especially
if you have small children, the automatic cut out means that if
you leave a hob on by mistake the chances of burning the house down
are minimised. Surfaces are easy to clean, the gas rings are easily
removed to make cleaning the hobs simple.
Cons: The grill and oven are slow to light and warm up.
The controls are also difficult to read, especially in poorly lighted
kitchens. The depth of the oven is poor, and makes cooking a large
meal difficult. I have read reports that the glass oven door can
overheat and could possibly give minor burns to those touching it
by mistake, small children are especially at risk. The adjustable
legs lack solidity, the metal is so thin it appears like they will
buckle under the weight at any moment. Adjusting the legs whilst
the cooker is upon them is teetering on the edge of disaster.
Verdict: A standard looking cooker, comes in either white
or anthracite (gray). Personally I much preferred it in anthracite.
One major complaint is the amount of time it takes for the grill
and oven to cook anything, usually a good deal longer than the recipe
instructions. The one touch ignition system is unreliable and problematic.
These issues would be enough to put me off buying the G755. I have
the sinking feeling this is one of those appliances the engineer
will be called out to on a regular basis.
