Technical Details: 340 x 340 x 370 mm WxDxH, weighs 6.6kg
with an empty dirt container, cleans within a range of 23.2m, 1200w
motor.
Features: Incorporates a carry handle which folds in to
hide it, uses bags - specifically only Microflo dust bags, 2-year
warranty from Numatic as a standard feature.
Pros: It also comes with a long power extension lead which
covers over 20 metres, which means you will not have to plug it into
many outlets. The lead can be wind back up, the handle folds in, which
makes for a tidy and compact machine. The 'Red Henry' has been a popular
vacuum for decades, it now has a good track record for robustness
and reliability. The suction wattage has been increased over the past
decade, and now features a 1200 watts engine. This provides strong
suction, which is capable of picking up those tricky waste materials.
The waste container varies on different models, the 9 liters model
will vacuum for a long time, and cover most homes needs.
Cons: Still uses bags. The suction power on previous models
has been somewhat suspect, and even the modern models may lack the
sophistication to pick up particularly difficult items like pet
hairs. The dirt container is low in height, so people with a bad
back will have trouble picking it up. This also makes it awkward
to maneuver, and usually means people end up dragging it around
by the suction hose. This increases the possibility of damaging
the hose, if it's used for dragging for a prolonged period of time.
As with most vacuums the suction head is not adept at picking up
dirt around the edges of a room.
Verdict: The HVR200-22 model has recently been upgraded
from a 1100 watts engine to 1200 watts. This means the little "Red
Henry" is more powerful than ever before. The suction power
has been upgraded quite a few times over the past decade, therefore
people with a poor experience of this vacuum's suction prowess a
decade ago may not be the best people to ask present day. For a
modest sum you will be buying one of the most robust vacuums available,
perfect for both domestic homes and commercial businesses. You'll
either love or hate it, most people will fall in love.
