"What
digital camera" magazine rated it top in it's class. Produces
lovely full colour widescreen shots. Mini video feature is a fav
with my kids.
I've
noticed a lack of detail on some photos. A friend said this was
due to 'image noise'. Battery life is low.
The in-store demonstrator stated he owned one (always a good sign
unless they are lying), the verdict of most camera magazines I've
read, online opinion etc., was that the IXUS 75 is the best pocket
compact on the market.
Why I love it,
- performance is one second quick, especially the AF system
- styling is excellent
- optical quality
- screen covers virtually the whole of the rear, it's large, bright,
and clear
- in dark low light conditions it performs impressively, it does
include a AF assist light feature
- lens does not produce any noticeable distortion, colour reproduction
at wide angles is superb
Overall, it costs a little extra, but performs near flawlessly.
I use it when cycling, so performance in low light was a must, it
gets banged around alot so it's pretty rugged and tough. I think
you'd be hard pressed to find anything better for shooting stills
and video for under £200.
