For just £190 this is an excellent upgrade for any amateur
photographer, I have now owned it for over eight months. The good
points are the lens, it's lightening fast and zooms so easy even
a young child could control it, the zoom has 10x optical rate, and
very fast response time. My Fuji S5500 is actually my third digital
camera and without doubt it's the best for poor light conditions,
with the shutter speed and high ISO always up to the job.
The focus works for any condition and I've found it's unmatched
for quality at this price range. Action shots are never a problem
with the grip offering a perfect fit, and it's not too heavy that
you fear about dropping it.
The problems I have come across were the startup time, can't use
the zoom feature while taking video, LCD screen which was a little
on the small side and flash levels for darker shots being mediocre
and a little grainy and noisy. ,
For the price I doubt there are any real competitors, I am far
from being a professional photographer, but I am sure the quality
of the shots would even excite them.
