Priced around £98 - £119 the 6600 GT is now one of
the most cost effective ways to super charge your PC gaming. Until
Nvidia released their 7800 GPUs the GeForce 6600 GPUs was by far
the best-in-class to deliver performance and advanced visual effects.
At one stage it was the only GPU that supported Shader Model 3.0
for Microsoft DirectX 9.0. With support for PCI Express it can also
deliver realistic effects, features, and solid stability. This card
will still handle the latest games with ease, having bench tested
it with Call of Duty 2 and Quake 4. The PNY version we tested also
came in a stylish fashion, with cool artwork on the box. The PNY
package was also generous with plenty of useful cables like a composite
video out adapter for connecting the card up to a TV (this can be
more complicated than it seems however, so research the process
fully). With most monitors now offering DVI high definition input,
the 6600 GT supports this with it's own DVI high definition output.
It also offers the ability to connect two monitors plugged into
it at any one time. Like with later Nvidia cards like the 7800 series
the 6600 GT card also requires extra power from your PC's power
supply unit inside the PC. If you do not connect this then your
card will tend to crash after a certain period of time (5-10 minutes).
This is still a hardcore gaming card which will produce impressive
results. If your gaming on a budget this is the card for you.

cheap
crashes
in direrctx games
if you like playing games that use openGL like call of duty, and
doom, buy this card because it's the fastest card out there for
the money you pay for it. If you like playing games like hitman
and Eve Online (like myself) that use directx graphics, this card
will crash. A lot. It's mainly a driver problem but I've tried loads
of different drivers for this card and none of them work properly.
Don't buy it, it just doesn't work very well.
