The packaged software application is versatile and specifically designed for this model.
The drivers can be problematic with MACs.

A3 scanners can be quite expensive, this represented excellent value for money at £79.99. The installation procedure was not simply however, and was time consuming. Basically my MAC did not register/find the packaged drivers, so it took me a few hours of searching the web for some which worked. It feels well made, and for my general business purposes it does a fine job.

Unbeatable value for money, nothing comes close, the best bang for bucks on the market.
Setup worked first time with XP.

Scans well for basic documents, I would surmise that photographists and artists would find it wanting for more advanced requirements. It will work on a basic PC (which mine is), the only requirement is a USB port, there is no alternative available. I would also recommend 512MB of ram, I am guessing it could hang on anything lower than this. For my needs I have been impressed by the reliability, build quality, performance and quality of the results.
