The MP500 aims to offer photo lab quality printing direct from your home. It includes a 2.5 inch colour LCD viewer on the front of the machine to ensure easy photo viewing, editing and printing. Like most all-in-one printers it also has the facility to print labels on a cd / dvd. It also allows for automatic double-sided printing. Comparing the photos on this printer to say the Kodak Printer Dock 3, or the Canon 4200 the photo's seemed sharper, more vivid, and without so many flaws on the MP500. While uploading the data from the camera and printing the photo's the MP500 is quiet and fast, even at the highest photo quality setting it didn't take too long for the printing session to complete. The list price of less than £110 seems like a steal, and I found one below £100 at one online retailer. Having used this printer for 1 day, I'd pay over £150 without any regrets. Alongside the rich quality of the prints, the ink lasts a longtime, the advice I received was the more you print in one session the more money you'll save on ink. I have no idea why this is so. I didn't use every print size, but I am sure it will print 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, 8.5x11, and 8.5x14 inch photos. The bundled software is also very good and allows for a range of photo manipulation and printing options. Alongside the photo quality and price, the thing I liked most is it uses very little ink, and the individual ink tanks help to save money.
