Technical Details: 160 x 160 STN display, 32mb memory flash,
200 mhz Samsung CPU, speaker, Infrared Port.
Features: Graffiti 2 Writing Area, 5-Way Navigator, Colour
Touchscreen Display, Home - Menu - Sync Button: and Find Button.
Pros: Flash memory stores everything when the lithium dies.
Due to the price it lacks quite a few more advanced features, it
first and foremost an electronic diary and address book. It does
come with the Palm Desktop (OS Garnet 5.4), so you can transfer
photos to from your PC, built in calendar, memo, contacts, tasks
and receive your Outlook Express emails from your PC. A minimum
of buttons makes it simple to use, the 200 MHz processor seems more
than upto the task.
Cons: The low price of around £60-70 means no Wi-Fi
or Bluetooth, two features many people would not wish to be without.
Unlike more advanced Palm models there is no headphone jack or microphone,
the ability to transform your PDA into a Dictaphone with record
voice notes is not available. The screen resolution at 160 x 160
pixels is disappointing even at this price range.
Verdict: Competitive price, a simple electronic organiser,
rather than a complex PDA with all the bells and whistles.
