Entry level dvd player from Denon renowned for their award winning products. Even though the DVD-1720 is entry level it still displays backups Denon's reputation of building components of true quality. This model has a straight forward design and comes in either a black or silver case. Alongside producing crystal clear pictures for your DVD's this player also plays music such as CD's, MP3 and e WMA discs (WMA stands foe 'Windows Media Audio'). As with most current dvd players you can also hook this component up to an AV receiver and speakers to produce a true home theater surround sound. It contains all the digital outputs for external PCM, Dolby Digital and DTS amplifiers. We would recommend you do this with components also from Denon to truly benefit. It's also DivX Certified, which means it's been tested to meet minimum quality and interoperability standards. A DivX certificate means it has a high level of overall quality.
