First impressions are good, looks great, and it's well made. It's
complicated however, so you need to dig out the manual leaflet straight
away. After 20 minutes of reading your up and running, well in terms
of knowing what needs to be done for the setup process :). But it
was ideal for me, and those of you planning to cut down on the clutter
of remotes. We have six remotes in our living room, one for the
TV, two for the stereo, one for the VCR and dvd player and two again
for the home cinema system. Clearing these out seemed a wise move,
especially because the looks of the Harmong handset are a knock
out compared to bland plastics of the other remotes. The setup process
I will not lie is a complicated process, you have to program in
codes for your devices from the logitech website, it features 1000's
of models. So you will need an Internet connection to get this remote
up and running. This process is slow, so expect to spend a lot of
hours working it all out. Some tech experience will be a bonus as
well, I really can't see a person with little or no Web and tech
experience ever getting this remote up and running. The process
somehow needs to become more automated. On a positive note Logitech
do promise to keep updating their product database, so as you buy
more hardware in the future it should still be compatible with your
remote. The remote is power intensive with 4 x AAA batteries, twice
the power needed of a typical remote. For those techies who hate
clutter it's £69.99 well spent. But the complicated nature
of the device may not appeal to the everyman.
