It's
sony and is by far the cheapest universal remote out there on the
market.
Usability.
The man of the house may understand it but everyone else you share
a house with will be left scratching their heads. This will usually
result with them standing up and manually pressing the buttons on
the machine. Suitable for a loner or a house of techy geeks. Your
grandma and elderly relatives will be left thinking wtf.

Cuts
down on a pile of remotes. Inexpensive

Will take a few hours to setup and learn all the intricacies of
the technology. It comes with a manual with a tables of codes for
hundreds of hifi, tv, dvd, vcr devices. All you need to do is match
your devices upto the correct codes, if you run into problems you
can use a handy search code function. The time consuming parts occurs
when the 'Sony' remote misses an important function such as 'open
tray' for a dvd player. This is where the 'learning' part of the
universal remote comes into play, you press the 'learn' button on
the 'Sony' remote and then press the 'open tray' button on your
dvd remote (while facing the 'Sony' remote). I cannot argue at £25
either. I had seven remotes for my tv, hifi separates, dvd player,
home cinema kit which created a real mess for my living room table.
It also saves time and annoyance when you have to pick up three
different remotes just to play a dvd.

Does
it all and is shockingly inexpensive.
Nothing.
The layout and amount of buttons are not OTT. The manual is fairly
easy to understand and the setup instructions are as simple as possible
for something which is quite complicated. Once everyone understands
it you'll be over the moon with your £25 investment.
