Price. Small enough for a child to handle.
The size effects your ability to hold it still for most shots, results in a shakey video.

Below £200, excellent value for a holiday break. My 11 year old daughter now uses it as her weekend hobby, if she ever breaks it we haven't lost anything too expensive.

Small, Easy to Use, Budget Price.
Quality of video is lacking at this price range.

Panasonic did not include the nessary cables to hook it up to a computer.

Wide angle lens, all the features you need.
None.

Any criticism at this price range is unwarranted, represents true value, ideal for a family holiday, beginner or teenager.

Everything you need from a camcorder - hardly notice your holding it - fits in a coat pocket.
Hard to keep steady and the video quality is of a budget level.

One of the best camcorders currently avaialable at this price bracket. Will not satisfy an expert but they would know this already - if your looking for a general use camcorder or a first timer then this model should meet your requirements.
