Sound
reproduction is class leading, volume is set at a safe level so
it does not damage your ear drums.
The
sonic stage software has had alot of bad press lately. Manual lacks
information on how to power off the machine.
I would give the player 5 stars if it wasn't for the inclusion
of the sonic stage software and user manual. Both have proved far
from comprehensive, the sonic stage software is slow to upload and
delete files and I have problems ripping music to the Sony atrac
plus format. It's got a long way to go before it comes anywhere
near the standard of itunes. I think the likes of Sony and Creative
forget it's not all about the hardware, the software is equally
important.

Light
as a feather at only 25g, charges quickly with a 1 min charge lasting
for 1 hour.
Sonic
stage software and ATRAC3plus format is an extra hassle which is
not required. It's a shame Sony can't keep it simple, compatible
and go with the flow rather than swimming against the tide and creating
their own formats all the time.
I would rather do without having to format all my downloaded tracks
from limewire into the ATRAC3plus format, but at 32kbps it does
mean that i can store upto 1300 songs on it.

Doubles
up as a memory stick.
Sonic
stage would not work on my version of XP for over six months until
MS released a new update.
Cannot fault the player, produces rich full bodied sound which
is uncanny from such a small device. The software on the other hand
has been a nightmare and has totally soured my experience with this
mp3 player.
