Why Samsung you ask?, the price tag, always the price tag. They
are a good quality brand, I love there mobiles and for under £1700
this telly is a serious bargain. The likes of Panasonic will ask
£3000 for a 50 inch plasma, so your saving yourself nearly
50% by picking a PS50Q7HD.
The majority of you will now be saying you pay for what you get,
the Panasonic et al. will be £1300 times better. This is patently
untrue when you view this machine in the flesh. The quality shouts
out, a superb looking device with a solid, elegant, glossy black
casing.
The picture quality equals the looks, it features a contrast ratio
of 10000:1 which means little to no fading. It's HD Ready like the
majority of modern TV's and has a native resolution of 1,366 x 768;
and the required 720p and 1080i HD formats to make it compatible.
The picture quality is so good you can view it from only seven feet
away and it doesn't diminish the enjoyment. Every friend who has
come round has been genuinely impressed.
My only gripe is that the TV only has one HDMI socket and two
Scarts sockets. I need a minimum of three scart sockets, and perhaps
four at a push if I buy another games console. This is a serious
oversight by Samsung, and would have put me off buying the TV if
I had check the blueprints more. I assumed three scart sockets was
standard and required for any large screen TV.
