Currently retailing for around £320 (23/11/05) this offering from Sony is very competitive judging from it's hard drive with a large capacity of recording time at 80 GB. As with any product from Sony the picture quality is class leading. Sometimes you pay a little extra for a Sony product with plenty of features but not here. The machine will compete with any other similar priced recorder from other brands due it's array of features. These include the 'Chasing Playback' feature which will allow you watch a show from the beginning while it is being recorded. With 'Precision Cinema Progressive' you can guarantee sharp pictures because this new algorithm will detect image changes at pixel level and process the moving and still parts so the background remains extremely sharp. Another great feature of this recorder is the 'Pause Live TV', it allows you to pause a television show you watching and then restart watching it at any period. And if you wish to forward to the broadcast time you can as well. A strong offering from Sony.
