It's
a panasonic for all those brands snobs.
Natural
screen resolution and contrast ratio are far from class leading.
For me picture quality is key, that's why I went for a plasma screen
over an lcd. If you are looking for low energy consumption and durability
then an lcd is well worth your time considering. I am a snob when
it comes to the brands I buy, I simple will not consider anything
lower than a Panasonic or a Sony. Yes you pay a premium for these
brands, but when you compare the reliability and durability ratings
of these brands it soon becomes clear it makes sense if your frugal
minded. I also feel good about owning a quality brand, and when
it's switched off it's not an embarrassment when friends and family
visit.
I spent a good deal of time studying magazines, specification details
on official sites, and finally comparing the pictures in Curry's
showroom. The likes of Samsung seem very competitive when you look
at stats of resolution and contrast ration. But when the compare
the picture quality side by side it does not show. And I do not
trust the likes of Sanyo and Samsuny when it comes to build quality.
Having got the television set home 2 weeks ago I had soon managed
to refuse the box and packaging. I was careful not to rip the box
incase the set needed returning to Currys under warranty. The setup
process was very easy and automatic, the controls on the remote
become intuitive in a short space of time and the picture is way
better than our 20 inch Hitachi lcd in the bedroom. Watching it
for prolonged periods does not strain the eye either, the glare
from the screen is gentle and not too bright, which especially worried
me when viewing a Samsung model I was interested in. I've owned
many TV's over the years and I have not owned a better TV for the
money yet. I even managed a discount from a Currys salesman after
a long period of haggling.
