good all round package for the money
none except the finish of the silver plastic bodywork, too dull for my taste

a good choice for the occasional holiday video or for a teenage a novice

compact - light weight - a breeze to use - low battery usage
the bodywork easily scratches down to the bone

Making the transition to DVD rw discs from tapes had only a few snaggs - the first package of rewriteable DVDs I bought were not compatible with this camcorder. Editing and copying from dvd was also problematic to begin with, I am not technically minded so it took plenty of reading up before I was successful. If you are still using tapes I would thoroughly recommend taking the plunge and switching to DVD.

Image quality is faultless considering the cost of this camcorder.
Do not make the mistake of ordering non-panasonic recordable DVD's - they are not compatible.

It took less than two hours to accustomise myself with the access menu's and editing functions. To begin with I made a few errors transferring video to my PC for editing purposes - resulting in a total loss of data. You will also need a buy USb cable to connect this camcorder to your PC - most manufacturers include this cable as standard but Panasonic overlooked it.
