Creative havent been having a good time of it, recent profits have
been massively down. It seems their mp3 machines just can't compete
with the kudos of the iPod which has an 80% share of the market.
The question is how does the Zen Micro compare with the iPod micro,
both have a similar storage capacity and are priced around £140
(until the mini was discontinued by Apple in favour of the nano).
The first thing you notice about the Creative Micro is it's been
designed with ergonomics in mind. Smaller than than the iPod mini
it's fits naturally into the hand with the touch-sensitive control
pad in the perfect touch position for navigation. This you can easily
do with just one finger. It has many features the iPod machine doesn't
have such as an FM radio, voice recording and a sleep and wake timer.
It also comes in more colours, includes Silver, Dark blue, Light
blue, Purple, Citrus Orange, Lime Green and Pink). Winner of the
prestigious "Editor's Choice" awards from CNET this machine
should be more popular than sales suggest. I also like checking
all the tech blogs
before making a decision also.
